Curious about February produce? This guide will walk through what fresh fruits and vegetables to stock up on, plus recipes to help you use it! For February, think root veggies, cold-hardy greens, stored produce, and bright citrus.
Similar to eating seasonally in January, February is a season of warm, nourishing, and grounding recipes.
I like to think of February (and all of winter, really!), as a time to feel unhurried in the kitchen. Not more complicated or time-consuming, but just a time to cook and eat mindfully with foods that feel deeply nourishing. Think soups, stews, braises, heartier grain salad, cozy pastas, roasted root veggies.
With that, this guide covers everything from what to stock up on and what you might be able to grab locally, to what to make this wintery month!
Summary: February seasonal produce includes root vegetables, cold-hardy greens, stored produce (such as winter squash, potatoes, and sweet potatoes), and citrus. These ingredients lend themselves to soups, braises, stews, and hearty winter salads!
